Thompson Ditch Project
This project consists of the placement of both storm and sanitary sewer infrastructure on the City's east side.

Project Description
This project consists of the placement of both storm and sanitary sewer infrastructure on the city’s East side North of I-70, South of Riley Ave, East of Brown Ave, and West of SR 46. This project will include the placement of an interceptor sewer with pipe sizes ranging from 36 inch to 30 inch in the bottom of a storm water conveyance facility commonly known as Thompson Ditch that will handle the sanitary sewer from Seelyville as well as placement of sanitary sewer on Poplar St from Fruitridge to Keane Lane. The lift station on Poplar St at the entrance to Village Quarter will be reconstructed and new force main installed from this point to a gravity manhole West of Keane Lane. Also included with this project is the placement of a new storm sewer that will capture Stormwater runoff along Poplar St between Deming Park and Dobbs Park. This portion of the project will involve the construction of curb and gutter, storm sewer, and a storage pond within Deming Park that will discharge into an existing stream within Deming Park

Substantial Completion: December 9, 2008
Final Completion: January 8, 2009
Construction Cost: $5,700,000.00

Currently, Poplar St from Fruitridge to Keane Lane is closed with a “Local Traffic Only” restriction from Keane Lane to SR 46 for the installation of sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and curb and gutter. This closure is scheduled to be in effect until August 29, 2008.
