September - Enthusiasm - Expressing joy in each task as I give it my best effort.

October - Dependability - Fulfilling what I consented to do, even if it means unexpected sacrifice.

November - Obedience - Quickly and cheerfully carrying out wise directions of those who are responsible for me.

December - Contentment - realizing that true happiness does not depend on material conditions.

January - Joyfulness - Maintaining a good attitude, even when faced with unpleasant conditions.

February - Compassion - Investing whatever is necessary to heal the hurts of others.

March - Responsibility - Knowing and doing what is expected of me.

April - Endurance - The inward strength to withstand stress and to do my best.


  • Teachers will select one (1) student in their class who exhibits the character trait of the month.  Nomination forms will be turned in to the school principal, character team, or contact person by the 14th of each month.
  • Each school will select one (1) winner from those nominated.
  • The Principal will notify the parents of the character award ceremony at City Hall
  • The Mayor will honor the students at City Hall at 6:30 pm. on the 2nd Thursday of each month prior to the City Council Meeting.
